Difficult First Test for Pod1 Football Team

FootballMatch Report: Pod1 4 v Mohammed FC 7

Pod1 FC kicked off their 2008 season campaign with a closely fought game against the league favorites ‘Mohammed FC’ last night. After losing two early goals in the first half, Pod1 clawed their way back into the game with a fantastic strike from ‘The Gaffer’ Simon Bell. Pod1 kept the pressure on throughout the first half and had several good chances to take the lead but failed to find the target. At the other end of the Park ‘JR’ John Richardson was playing well in goals and made some crucial saves to keep Pod1 in the game. However, at the stroke of half time Pod1 lost another crucial goal and finished the half 3-1 down.

The second half started brightly for Pod1 with a goal from…me, but the gap opened once again as Mohammed FC replied with two quick goals to make the score 5-2. ‘JR Junior’ found the net moments later to bring the score to 5-3, but once again Mohammed FC were quick to reply with another goal making it 6-3. Pod1 changed tactics for the final 5 minutes of the match, Bell went in goal and JR came outfield. The tactical switch paid off immediately following a stunning reflex save from Bell. Some good passing work from Richardson Jnr resulted in another goal from me to bring the score up to 6-4. Just when it looked as though Pod1 could salvage a draw, Mohammed struck again to make the score 7-4 in the dying minutes.

A respectable start to the season for Pod1, a win is surely just around the corner.

Kirna Zabete is owned by two young women by the names of Sara Easley and Beth Buccini. They decided after working in the glamorous world of fashion that New York needed a store with style, sophistication and edge. The two fashionista’s then opened up the Kirna Zabete boutique in 1998 in the heart of New York’s trendy Soho area. KZ is now known to New Yorkers as a fashion fantasy land for the up-scale, avante garde shopper.

Jonano is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was established in 2005 by owner Bonnie Siefers. Jonano, is best known for combining luxurious eco-fabrics with chic boutique styling. Be a Bag’

The Anya Hindmarch ‘Be a Bag’ creator has gone live, so customers can now have the Ultimate in personalised fashion accessories.

The concept is simple, the Anya Hindmarch Be a Bag range offers customers the opportunity to customise a bag from a wide range of different styles with their very own photographs. Previously the online process had proved a little long winded and involved sending in the required photographs manually.

The newly launched creator was designed by Pod1 to allow customers to upload and edit their photos directly on the site.

Chase away the winter blues

Pod1 has moved that little bit closer to spring this week, with both Reiss and Matches fashion sites being updated with the new spring summer 2008 imagery.

Matches has gone one step further with the launch of a dedicated new online shop for the Diane Von Furstenberg designer collection. Basically a microsite within the Matches Fashion main website, the DVF Shop gives the collection its own unique show case. With branded landing page and additional information on the Diane von Furstenberg brand along with the bricks and mortar stores. For the full DVF experience visit www.matchesfashion.com/dvf.

Meanwhile the ultra slick Reiss website has just got even slicker with the addition of the Spring / Summer 08 homepage imagery. The combination of a full screen layout coupled with the clean light colours and stylish photography comes together to give the site maximum visual impact. Browse the new season’s collection at www.reiss.co.uk.

Media Marketing Expert to Drive Pod1’s Global Expansion Plans

Pod1 is pleased to announce the recruitment of former Times and BBC marketeer Simon Bell as our new managing director with a view to take the agency into its next phase of development.

Simon has a wealth of experience in managing major marketing campaigns for News Corp, where he was a key member of the team that re-launched Times Online, and responsible for managing The Times, Sunday Times and Times Online brands, carrying out strategic marketing development and identifying and communicating trends and insights. He was also responsible for the management of agency selection, remuneration and relationships, which makes him ideal for this new position.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I am extremely excited to be joining an agency that already has a strong heritage in the creative digital space and I look forward to helping to push the agency forward.”

Pod1 founder Fadi Shuman, added: "We were looking for someone with the skills and experience to focus on managing the business and driving through our expansion plans, while we focus on developing and honing our e-commerce offering. We believe Simon is the man to build on Pod1’s strengths and reputation of being the best in our area of e-commerce and online customer conversion.”
