Pod1 climbs rapidly up NMA Top 100 annual digital agency list

The much awaited New Media Age’s 2008 Top 100 list published this week shows Pod1 continuing its fantastic growth rate, climbing to 56th in the highly regarded industry list from 81st last year. This makes Pod1 one of the fastest growing digital agencies– 56% growth in turnover (and given the survey is UK only this excludes revenue from the recently opened US division). The growth is all organic reflecting an excellent sales effort but also a growing reputation for Pod1’s great design and technology.

NMA comments “the past 12 months have seen Pod1 work on projects for Uniqlo, implementing what it claims is the first single-page checkout system in the UK; Fred Olsen Cruises, which saw the agency integrate GPS technology into the site; and also projects for Kurt Geiger, Links of London and Reiss. The raft of business wins has enabled Pod1 to increase digital income, following a tripling of revenues two years ago that coincided with opening its first office in the US”.

Virgin Holidays Launches Revised Booking System Engineered and Designed by Pod1

Virgin Holidays, one of the biggest brands in the holiday industry, approached Pod1 with a view to redeveloping their customer journey through the booking section of their existing site.

After carrying out extensive usability testing Virgin found that there were a number of problems that came to light. Firstly the drop off rate was much higher than the industry average based on the number of users successfully completing a transaction. Another issue was that users were unsure whether or not insurance was included in the the holidays price. Finally it was discovered that the process for booking car transfers could be simplified.

Virgin Holidays brief to Pod1 was to produce an updated booking engine experience which met the following objectives. Firstly the new system would improve the usability of the site, by simplifying the process flow while finally imroving the conversion rate of visitors to purchases.

The new system has now been introduced on selected areas of the Virgin Holidays website and the initial results look very good.

Reiss E-shop Featured in .net Magazine

The Pod1 designed and built Reiss website has been featured in the latest issue of .net magazine in the showcase gallery section.

"Although it was hugely successful on the high street, Reiss had yet to establish its presence online", says Pod1 founder Fadi Shuman. "So when it recently underwent a rebranding of its identity, it was the perfect opportunity to launch into the world of ecommerce. The main priorities were to reflect the discerning style of the brand online, capitalise on brand awarness and loyalty, capture valuable marketing data and create an effective, reliable content management system that Reiss could manage itself."

The rich, engaging design was targeted to capture the attention of potential customers, and the fashion mag feel is brilliantly executed with its combination of sophisticated photography and catwalk chic.
